The Health Science Libraries Association of Gujarat (HSLA) started to provide extensive services and programs to its members. The group will support to health science librarians and healthcare professionals to sharing the bio-medical information in Gujarat. The group also helps medical librarians and health science professionals to access the most current information available on a plethora of medical and health topics.
The HSLA provides a professional update to the medical and health science librarians and those who work in medical and health sciences libraries. Provide a platform to cooperative networking activities of area library works and their associates. The Group can provide an update of informational resources and provision of the means for sharing, strengthening, and utilizing them.
Vision
The Health Science Libraries Association of Gujarat (HSLA) has faith in that the quality information is essential for health enhancement. The HSLA aims to be the alliance of the most visible, valued, and trusted health information experts. To that end, HSLA promotes excellence in the professional practice and leadership of health sciences library and information professionals in order to enhance the quality of health care, education and research all through the Gujarat.
Mission
The Health Science Libraries Association of Gujarat (HSLA) has a fundamental function as follow:
- Serve members by promoting mentorship and leadership.
- Develop leadership skills by promoting exploration of new roles, knowledge, and skills.
- Recruit and retain individuals to the profession by promoting health sciences librarianship.
- Be the leading education facilitator of a profession by expanding the workshop and training to meet needs.
- Demonstrate a value of quality health information by promoting a value of a profession.
- Show role that health information professionals play by helping members advocate their value to their institutions.
- Develop and manage knowledgebase of health information research by promoting the creation of profession evidence-based research.
- Build a network of experts through working to develop a local, regional, national, and international partnership.
